THINGS are hotting up around Petersfield with a busy programme of fun days, fetes and festivals taking place over the coming days.

But the action will be sizzling at Penns Field this weekend as thousands of youngsters head to the town for a dazzling feast of football.

Bosses and volunteers at Petersfield Town Juniors are getting ready to host one of the South's biggest youth football competitions.

More than 7,000 young footballers from as far afield as Kent and London will complete alongside East Hampshire teams in the annual six-a-side event.

There should be goals galore with an incredible 214 teams taking to the pitches in the tournament, which kicks off on Saturday.
