FOLLOWING the success of the club's summer tournament, Liphook United's youth teams celebrated the end of the season with their annual presentation evening at the Millennium Centre.

It was attended by more than 400 players ranging from six to 16 years old.

It was a great opportunity to thank players, parents, managers and administrators alike for all their hard work and dedication over the year, with each player receiving an award for taking part, as well as a Top Sportsman, Most Improved Player and Player of the Year trophy for each of the 15 teams represented.

United chairman Steve Davis told The Herald: "The boys and girls made a real effort to look smart while their respective managers sang their praises."

The chairman's award was also presented to persons that have contributed hugely to the club over the 2012/13 season, and this year it was shared between U14s manager John Raeyen, and Mark "Willow" Morton, the manager/administrator of the first team and ladies team, for their energy and unbridled passion for making things happen at the club, without whom the chairman's job would be infinitely harder, Mr Davis added.

The veterans annual fundraising tournament is due to take place at the Recreation Ground, London Road, on Sunday, June 23, starting at noon.
