CHILDREN at Bedales' pre-prep school signed off for Christmas in style with a colourful festive performance.

Adapted from the original book by Antonia Barber, the script of The Mousehole Cat, created by some of the year three children at Dunannie, tells the dramatic and moving tale of a cat who goes with its owner on a fishing expedition in rough seas.

Children from each year group had a role to play, from dancing kittens in onesies and beautiful fish performing a flowing underwater dance to villagers who led Tom Mowzer's boat safely back to the harbour. The production was enhanced by wonderful musical pieces, including both contemporary and traditional songs such as Cats of the Sea and Twas a Dark Misty Day.

Dunannie headteacher Jo Webbern said: "Congratulations to all the children for delivering such an outstanding production and their confident and self-assured performances.

"And thank you to the wonderful team of Dunannie staff for their hard work, creative skills and vision that has culminated in a most memorable performance."
