HASLEMERE Preparatory School for Boys joined the girls at St Ives during the National Science and Engineering Week.

The annual event shines the spotlight each March on how science, technology, engineering and maths relate to our everyday lives and helps to inspire the next generation of scientists with fun and participative activities.

Last year's event clocked up more than 4,500 events and activities attended by 1.7 million people in a nationwide grassroots celebration of all things science and engineering.

Pupils decided to brighten up the proceedings by making science goggles with a difference.

St Ives is an enthusiastic supporter of the scheme. Head teacher Lesley Shaikh said: "Science is for everyone, girls and boys alike and it should be fun and engaging.

"We have certainly tried to show them that this year."
