FARNHAM Youth Choir set out on its first ever tour of Ireland this week, aboard a plane piloted by one of the award-winning ensemble's founding members.

The youth choir is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, having been founded in 1984 by musical director and conductor David Victor-Smith.

And to mark the occasion, 37 singers aged between 11 and 18, embarked on a five day tour of the Emerald Isle this week, taking in Cork and Dublin.
