MORE and more young people have been joining Liphook Youth Club, which counted a record attendance of 39 children in February.
Youth club management committee chairman Dr John Tough, who is also a volunteer youth worker, said: “This is wonderful – we are clearly providing something that young people really want and enjoy!
“Due to the success of the club we now need more adult volunteers if we are to continue providing such a good service. They would be expected to attend at least one session a month and training is provided.”
Head youth worker Kayleigh Rigby added: “I am so happy with how well the Liphook Youth Cub is running now, and how the numbers have grown since reopening a year ago.

Liphook Youth Club was closed for a period in April 2015 when Hampshire County Council stopped funding all youth projects, which meant youth workers could no longer be employed.
The club then managed to attract around a dozen children each week.
Since the youth club reopened in February last year – staffed by volunteers – membership numbers began to grow steadily week by week to a new record high.
The group meets at Liphook’s Millennium Centre, in Ontario Way, every Monday evening during school term from 6.30pm until 8.30pm. Young people in school years seven to 11 are welcome to attend.
The first attendance is free, followed by a small charge of £1.50 per session, which includes a hot toasty and a fruit drink on arrival.
Members can play table tennis, pool and badminton indoors and during the lighter evenings basketball and football outside.
Craft activities and cooking are very popular as are music sessions led by a local music teacher.
