LIPHOOK Youth Club is looking for more volunteers to help run its successful meetings on Monday evenings at the Millennium Centre.
Volunteer youth worker Kayleigh Rigby said: “The youth club is doing really well with a good number of around 30 young people attending regularly, but to make sure it continues we are in real need of more volunteers.
“This would also allow us to provide more activities and projects for our young members and to reduce the load on individual volunteers.”
Liphook Youth Club depends entirely on volunteers to be able to hold its weekly sessions. Anyone interested must be 18 or over and able to offer two hours on Monday evenings during term-time, but not necessarily every week.
Basic youth work training will be provided for new volunteers if necessary.
Liphook Youth Club started eight years ago with the support of Hampshire County Council’s Youth Service, which has since been withdrawn. The club is supported by a grant from Bramshott and Liphook Parish Council together with important contributions from a local trust, and East Hampshire District Council.
The club meets at the Millennium Centre every Monday evening from 6.30-8.30pm during school-term, and is open to young people aged 11 to 15. For more details or to register as a volunteer, call Liphook Youth Club chairman Dr John Tough on 01428 724492 or e-mail [email protected].
