A FARNHAM schoolgirl has raised £1,600 and counting for the Little Princess Trust after cutting off 12 inches of her locks to make real hair wigs for boys and girls battling cancer and other illnesses.
Zola Cornelius, a 10-year old student at Waverley Abbey C of E Junior School, wanted to support the charity to help children feel more confident after undergoing treatment for an array of conditions.
As well as braving a sponsored snip at Blue Hairdressing in Grayshott, she has also baked cakes to sell at school in exchange for donations to the Little Princess Trust.
Mum Leonie said afterwards: “I am so very proud that Zola decided to do this to help children far less fortunate than herself.
“The knowledge that her hair donation will be incorporated into wigs for children who have suffered hair loss through cancer treatments and other illnesses, such as alopecia, is a truly wonderful thing.
“Many thanks to all who have donated so far and to Gavin Stewart, of Blue Hairdressing in Grayshott, who donated his time and skill in giving Zola such a beautiful new haircut.”
