POOLE III 0, Haslemere V 6 (Hants 10). League leaders Haslemere gave another fine performance against sporting opponents.

Astutely managed by Ollie Green, the smooth-passing New Developers were rewarded by a smart goal from a dynamic Joshua Lott. His second, and a third by Dominic Knight, after clever hockey, gave the visitors a 3-0 lead at half-time.

Haslemere went to sleep for ten minutes of the second half and were indebted to sharp defensive work by Matt Wild, Harry Stokes and, in goal, Archie Summers.

Stirred by skipper Richards, the new Developers upped their game. Lott finished clinically for his third and fourth goals and David Mayson provided a killer sixth.

Important for the victors was the drive and expertise in midfield of seniors Richards, Rodber, Wild, Mayson and Macdonald and the enthusiasm and quick passing of youngsters Johnny Hoe, Alex Knight and Ben Hope.

Haslemere were grateful for the excellent lady umpires provided by Poole.
