ALDERSHOT, Farnham & District AC were victorious when they hosted a match in the finale of this season’s Southern Athletics League.

Joe Parker’s personal best snatched the lead from team-mate David Brice in the last round of their javelin competition after the pair had dominated at the Military Stadium in Aldershot.

AFD also provided the two best competitors on show in the women’s event on Saturday as Leanne Davies won from Emma Broadey.

Gabi Eglen, another AFD athlete to record a personal best, and Niamh Brown crossed the line together at the head of the field in the women’s 1500 metres.

In the men’s race, MacGregor Cox led home Alex Pointon for another AFD one-two.

Chris Horlock, who is an under-17, won both the high jump and triple jump.

Other winners for the club were George Gathercole (5000), Will Brockman (steeplechase), Molly Pocock (800), Carolyne Baxter (3000) and Chloe Toft (triple jump).
