ALDERSHOT TOWN 2

ALFRETON TOWN 3

THIS was not the celebration Aldershot manager Andy Scott had in mind after putting pen to paper on a three-year contract extension last week.

On the first ever meeting between Alfreton and

Aldershot, it was the Derbyshire outfit who prevailed.

Alfreton's two goals in the first half came courtesy

of typically calamitous defending by the Shots and

despite the hosts twice levelling the scores, a third

Alfreton goal shortly after the interval condemned

Scott's men to their sixth defeat of the season.

It means Aldershot have now conceded nine goals in

their last three home games and, despite excellent

strikes by Jaydon Gibbs and Brett Williams on this occasion,

defensive errors continue to cost them dear.
