ALICE Oppenheimer has put her busy competitive season on hold as she makes her way to the Rio Olympics as part of BOA’s Ambition Programme.
The Four Marks-based international dressage rider is one of 39 athletes and coaches, who aspire to compete at Tokyo 2020.
The programme was devised to give athletes a unique opportunity of an insider’s view of the Olympics in preparation for the 2020 Games.
Alice, who is on the Lottery-funded World Class Podium Potential Squad, will visit Team GB’s preparation camp in Belo Horizonte before flying down to Rio to visit the Olympic Village and watch her country’s equestrian Olympians in action.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity and I’m so grateful to the programme,” said the 26-year-old. “I can’t quite believe that I get to go and watch our fantastic riders compete and experience the Games first hand.”
