ALTON came within a six of chasing down a reduced score of 136 off 25 overs at the Jubilee Ground on Saturday. It all came down to Mason Crane's last ball of the day, which Scott Myers, unbeaten on 62, needed to hit for six to give Alton their first Southern Electric Premier League win of the season. But the Lancing College leg-spinner fired in a yorker dot-ball which left a relieved Hampshire Academy winners by just four runs. For full match report, see this week's Herald.
