The popular annual Gibbet Hill 10k, organised by Haslemere Border Athletic Club, returns at 7.30pm on Wednesday, July 8.
Renowned as one of the area's most challenging and scenic multi-terrain races, the route takes runners through the Surrey Hills before tackling the 690ft climb to the summit of Gibbet Hill. The reward for the effort is breathtaking views across the surrounding countryside, followed by a downhill descent to the finish.
New for this year is a team competition, with a prize awarded to the first team home. Prizes will also be awarded to the first male and female finishers.
All runners will receive a commemorative medal, a goody bag and the chance to win one of several spot prizes. At the finish on Lion Green, competitors and supporters can enjoy refreshments, while Haslemere Girl Guides will run a cake stall. Haslemere Town Band will welcome runners’ home.
