BADSHOT Lea Tennis Club held an Open Afternoon on Sunday as part of the nationwide LTA Great British Tennis Weekend.

It was a chance to make the community aware of the excellent tennis facilities on their doorstep and many visitors came along to enjoy an afternoon of free tennis and coaching in beautiful weather. Those not on court were able to make new friends and catch up with old acquaintances, while sampling the refreshments on offer.

Thanks to the efforts of members and coaching staff, the club were able to welcome several new members.

Badshot Lea TC invite newcomers to attend club evenings on Thursdays (start 6pm). The courts are on the recreation ground behind the village green in Badshot Lea and are available for public hire.

The next GB Tennis Weekend is scheduled for July 22.
