CRAWLEY Ridge B won the Aldershot Table Tennis League’s first silverware of the season when they beat Tennis H in the Div IV Cup final.
Peter Greenwood-Sleep was unbeaten for the Camberley outfit who won 6-3.
The Div I Cup semi-finals were hard-fought affairs. Tennis A pipped Central A 5-4. Phil Snelson won three for Central, but Eliot Tilley beat Ramesh Bhalla in four games in the decider to get Tennis into the final.
Bentley A defeated Central B 5-2, thanks to another treble from Andy Mudie. Mark Handcock won Central’s points.
There was another exciting semi-final in the Div II Cup when Fleet A were inched out 5-4 by Tennis D. With the tie level at 4-4, Michael Kwan beat John Upham to remain undefeated and see Tennis into the final.
In the other semi-final, Broadmoor A saw off Ash C 5-3. Pu Zhang and Tony Gabriel won two apiece for Broadmoor, as did Nigel Tustin for Ash.
In the remaining Div III Cup semi-final, Frimley C beat Ash E 7-2. Bob Walker was unbeaten for the winners, backed up by doubles from Peter Farrelly and John Eade.
In Division?One, Frimley A lost to both Central A (9-1) and Ash B (7-3). Robin Pretty and Phil Snelson were unbeaten for Central, while the Ash B trio of Chris Dury, Nick Lynch and James Wyncoll all won twice, as did Tim Ngyou for Frimley.
Cody D edged away from the Division Three relegation zone with a 6-4 victory over Frimley D. Dean Hewitt secured a full house for Cody, with team-mate Fan Lei taking two. Frimley’s Anthony Connelly also won twice.
