CHAWTON Park secured a third men’s Hampshire indoor bowls final place, with Mark Fyfield and Adam White winning through in a thrilling pairs semi-final.

The Chawton duo were up against Stuart Rowney and Mick Barrett from Atherley IBC and somehow snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

Chawton were trailing 15-6 going into the final third of the match and were six shots down with two ends to play,

White achieved a take-out on the 20th end to make five shots and with two shots on a measure, secured the win on the last end.

The disappointment proved too much for one of the Atherley players who tried his footbowl skills and was last seen limping away from Banister Park.
