STAR athlete Olivia Breen missed out on a second medal at the Dubai World Para Championships by less than a third of a second on Tuesday.
Having already claimed bronze in the T38 long jump, Breen finished agonisingly outside the medals in fourth place in the T38 100 metres final.
The 23-year-old Liphook runner clocked 13.22 seconds to finish behind British world record holder Sophie Hahn, Hungarian Luca Ekler and Rhiannon Clarke, from Australia.
In winning her fourth consecutive world title, Hahn lowered her own world record when she clocked 12.38 seconds in a competitive final in which three athletes dipped below the 13-second mark.
Breen had hoped to add another medal to the bronze she picked up in the long jump when her leap of 4.93 metres put her behind Ekler (5.31m) and Margarita Goncharova of the Russian Federation.
Of her bronze medal, the City of Portsmouth athlete said: “I’m really happy, it’s been such a long season. I gave it my all and coming home with a medal I can’t ask for any more.
“Training has been going really well and I just had to nail it in competition. It was all that I could do and I’m really happy with my performance.
“A bronze medal means so much to me. I came into the competition ranked third. I got injured at the Commonwealth Games last year but all the rehab and hard work has paid off.”
