ALDERSHOT Table Tennis League leaders Central B came up against their A team in a Division One local derby.

The As were only able to field two players, but Phil Snelson (3) and Ramesh Bhalla (2) secured a fighting 5-5 draw against Martin Townshend, Robin? Pretty and Dave Phelps.

Bentley A gained a crucial 7-3 win against Tennis A. Andy Mudie won all three for Bentley and Micky Lang claimed a double. Rod Kay won twice for Tennis.

Tennis E broke their duck in Division Two when they overcame Broadmoor A 7-3. Andy Murdock won a treble, supported by Graham McCulley (2) and George Carder (2).

Frimley B recorded a welcome 6-4 win over Fleet A. Frimley’s star player was Hudson Foley with a maximum, while Vasco Correira bagged a brace. Fleet’s David Joyce also won twice.

In Division Three, Tennis F beat Ash F 7-3. Peter Killick scored a hat-trick for Tennis and Darren Brown took two for the promotion contenders. Karim Lawji won twice for Ash.

Margaret Thornton and Dave Brown both recorded maximums as Ash D defeated Cody D 7-3.

Frimley C maintained their 100 per cent record with an 8-2 defeat of their D squad. Bob Walker and Peter Farrelly were unbeaten on the night.

Newcomer Carl Tatum, who had previously not won a single match, secured a maximum as Ash K beat their H team 7-3 in Division Four. Stuart Wickham was also unbeaten.

Crawley Ridge B continued their promotion push by beating Tennis H 8-2. Peter Greenwood-Sleep and Richard Pape both notched up maximums.
