The Charles family of Bentworth have made history in the world of showjumping. Sienna, Harry and Scarlett, the children of Tara and Peter Charles, an Olympic gold medallist at London 2012, have all been selected for the British squad to compete in the European Championships that will run from July 26-31 at Millstreet, Ireland.
Never before have two siblings been selected for the same squad, nor have three siblings represented GB at the European Championships at the same time.
Sienna (13) will compete in the children’s section, riding Chaitanya 2, a nine-year-old grey, while Scarlett (15) and Harry (17) go in the juniors, riding Sacree Du Rouet, a 10-year-old bay mare, and Controe, a nine-year-old bay gelding, respectively. All the horses are owned by Peter Charles.
