Aldershot and Farnham men’s first team (A&F) romped to a 4-0 win away to Oxted’s 2nd XI in the South East Men’s Premier Division last Saturday.

A simple cross across goal found Will Caine unmarked to tap home and put A&F 1-0 up, then a move forward down the left saw Jonny Groves pick up the ball inside the D and square it to Josh Frost to tap in to make it 2-0.

In the second half Stu Morhall won the ball on the right, found Paddy Craddon at the second attempt, and Craddon sped away from the Oxted defence, drew the keeper and slipped in Weston who walked it in for 3-0.

A&F’s fourth came from a 16. An Oxted defender’s botched aerial rolled straight to Groves, who again squared the ball for Caine to lift it high over the scrambling keeper.

First team coach Ian Jennings said: “I’m not going to lie and say it was great, because in reality it was average at best. We were sloppy on the ball, which made the turnovers far too frequent and caused us to work unnecessarily hard.

“Hopefully we will get a full nine points from our last three games, which could take us up to third, but it’s not just in our hands. However, if third is achieved, then it will have been a successful season - just a shame it will be a season which could have been so very different.”

Next week A&F play Woking.
