Alton’s first team beat South Wilts by five wickets.

Jude Wright (four for 53) was the pick of the attack as the Brewers bowled South Wilts out for 178.

Alton openers Abhay Gonella and Fred Egleston put on 76 before Egleston was removed for 38.

Ben Rolfs (11) and Sam Ruffell (14) supported Gonella (69), before the opener fell with Alton needing a further 23 runs.

Despite the loss of skipper Scott Myers, Mark Heffernan and Wright saw the Brewers home without further alarm.
