FAMOUS names of the cricketing world will grace Odiham & Greywell CC on Friday, June 17 when Lashings, a team of former Test stars, plays a T25 charity match against the club.

The day will feature a VIP lunch and BBC Test Match Special regular Henry Blofeld will host one of the tables, as well as commentate on an innings.

Herschelle Gibbs (6,000 runs for South Africa), Gordon Greenidge (7,558 runs for West Indies) and current Windies paceman Tino Best are already named in the Lashings line-up.

England players past and present, such as Andy Caddick, Alex Tudor and Nick Compton, have turned out for Lashings, while Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar and Andrew Flintoff have given their support to the charity fund-raising side.

Event organiser Bruce Applin reports that some tables of ten are still available, including a three-course lunch, wine and after-match tea. Tables for those sitting with a Lashings player cost £950 (plus VAT) and others £750 (plus VAT) – £75 per guest.

Bookings and full details are available at [email protected]

Entry to the Odiham ground will be free, with food and drink stalls on hand. The match starts at 3 pm at the King Street ground.

Odiham & Greywell Cricket Club is one of the very oldest, its first recorded match having been played in 1764.
