IN Division Three of the I’Anson, there were wins for Tongham, Tilford II, Grayshott III and Thursley.
For the second time this season, Brook came unstuck in a high-scoring game. Paul Challinor scored 111 for the visitors and despite Cook’s haul of 6-47, Tongham were set 233 to win.
But the home side had a centurion of their own in Adam Farrier whose 106 set up a superb victory with nearly four overs to spare.
Tilford II, too, won a high-scoring game, away to Frensham III. Roger Johnston’s 69 and 47 from Charlie Pamment helped Frensham to an imposing 206 all out in the 48th over.
But Tilford were equal to the challenge. Martin Cantwell set them on their way with 64 and an unbroken stand between Hamish Macdonald (38 not out) and Ben Matthews clinched an exciting victory in the final over.
Toby Joyce took 5-29 as Peper Harow struggled to 133 all out, this after an opening stand of 46 between Steve Bradley and Glenn Taylor. Neil Sampson then played a captain’s innings of 54 not out for Grayshott III who got the runs in just 24 overs.
Fred Martin-Dye had a memorable day for Blackheath II, scoring an unbeaten 114 out of a total of 246-8 in 44 overs. Wood Street were in no mood to roll over, however. James Cagney played the starring role with 66 and an unbroken partnership between Liam Binfield and Gary Dobson saw the visitors to 204-6.
A draw was the fairest result to an excellent game between Bramley and Kingsley. Ali Holmes (85) and Ben Lewis (61) put Bramley in a strong position, but tight bowling at the death restricted the home side to 223 all out from the full 48 overs.
Andy Robertson and Dan Burstow had Kingsley in serious trouble at 53-5, but Paul Boxford had other ideas and his brilliant 103 off 87 balls gave the visitors a real chance. Bramley almost won it in the final over after a flurry of wickets, but neither team deserved to lose.
Dogmersfield II lost to Thursley by 4 wickets. Dogmersfield II 174 (D Agge 5-31). Thursley 175-6 (K Tilson 63, A Smallbone 39, D Agge 28 not out).
