LEE Clement scored a half-century for Haslemere in their tough match away to Old Hamptonians, the Surrey Championship Division Four front-runners, and a total of 179 in 55 overs looked competitive in conditions that appeared to suit the bowlers.

Scott Boxall was in the action when Hamptonians replied, catching one opener off Chris May and running out the other (42-2).

But Shajeel Butt (84 not out) and Adam Scher took the game away from Haslemere with a stand of 99.

The hosts won by seven wickets after 39 overs.
