Former first-team captains Peter Chuter, Mike Fathers and Ray Clarke, who have all played for Frensham Cricket Club for more than 50 years, were wearing their special ‘50 years’ caps in the match against the President’s XI. Clarke, an England O65s player, still turns out for the first team, while Fathers remains a sharp operator behind the stumps for the 4th XI. Chuter continues to make runs for the 3rd XI and Sunday side and, as he showed in the President’s game, remains a difficult batsman to winkle out. The President’s XI, recruited by club president Mike Fathers, lost to a Frensham XI in the last over.
