HINDHEAD Cricket Club are running their annual six-a-side tournament on Sunday, August 7 to raise funds for Macmillan Nurses.

The charity looked after two former, much-missed Hindhead cricketers, Tony Dakeyne and Julian Collins.

It will be a light-hearted event and the organisers plan to have six sides taking part, a condition being that each team should be at least 240 years old between them.

The competition will start at 11am, finishing around 7pm, and there will be a barbecue and raffle, plus real ale and other beverages.

The four sides signed up so far are Thorne Tree Fellers, The Legionnaires, Cooling’s Jolly Sailors and the Jolly Hockey Sticks.

Spectators will be welcome at the Marchants Hill ground, off Tilford Road.
