I’ANSON Division Three champions-elect Tilford II bounced back from last week’s defeat in style.
Bolstered by first-teamers Jake Austin (42) and Huw Town-Jones (a very rapid 43 not out), the home team amassed a formidable 282-8 against Peper Harow, although it was opener Chris Wilson who top-scored with 53, closely followed by Extras on 47.
Peper Harow were in deep trouble at 30-5 before Khaqan Azis-Dar (35) and the late order took the depleted visitors to a more respectable 125.
Milford decided to bat against second-placed Bramley, but posted a modest 110 all out. Only Darren Bierton (28) and Tristan Murray (26) made meaningful contributions against some good bowling, especially from Alasdair White and James Money.
Harry Wood (3-18) and Craig Enticknap reduced Bramley to 34-4, but an undefeated 51 from Ali Holmes, ably supported by skipper Lee Burgess (37), saw Bramley home in an enjoyable game.
Wood Street’s bowlers generously gave 36 wides to Headley II, but were still able to bowl the hosts out for 142. The first two overs yielded 23 runs, but Wood Street tightened up and Inzy Azeem made his first intervention of the day to dismiss Callum Hawtin for 21. Tom Grist was the pick of the bowlers and keeper Liam Binfield took five catches behind the stumps
An aggressive 76 by Wood Street opener Craig Williams, who was dropped several times, then broke the back of the chase before a swift 28 not out from Azeem sealed a comfortable win.
Blackheath II looked well on course for a 200-plus total as the top three of Ian Nolan (27), Charlie Vincent (49) and Joe Davis (50) played good innings. But Jamal and Rashid bowled good spells and the home side were restricted to 190-9.
Dogmersfield’s batting was more consistent. Raza top-scored with 45 and six batsmen reached double figures as the visitors completed a three-wicket win with 10 balls to spare.
Puttenham II conceded to Kingsley.
