Neave, who formerly played for Headley in the I’Anson, is an out-and-out fast bowler, lethal and sometimes erratic, while Campbell made an impression with his great economy when opening the bowling for Liphook in the latter half of last season’s SPL Division One.
In addition, Neave is a stylish, extremely hard-hitting middle-order batsman, quite capable of turning a game round off his own bat.
Neave is expected to play most of his league cricket for Liphook. Campbell could play mostly for the county’s Academy.
Both played for Hampshire 2nd XI in an early work-out against Devon last week.
Experienced seamer Charles Janczur will continue to captain Liphook 1st XI after taking over from Harry Munt midway through last season.
A boost for Liphook is the news that Ryan Covey is returning to his home club after two seasons with Sarisbury.
Covey will bolster the top-order batting and he also offers his own brand of ‘slow’ bowling.
Liphook are also hoping to recruit a new batsman, a friend of Suman Ganguly, who could slot in nicely at number 3.
For the first time, the club are entering the National Village Cup which has relaxed its qualification rules in order to attract new sides.
