TILFORD II maintained their commanding lead in I’Anson Division Three, beating Peper Harow by 80 runs to record an eighth consecutive victory.

Tilford’s batting was solid rather than spectacular. Chris Wilson top-scored with 37 and five other batsmen reached double figures against an accurate attack as the visitors took 48 overs to compile 162-7.

It proved easily enough. Nathan Swansborough (29) and Richard Peplow gave Peper Harow a bright start, but then the innings was wrecked by change-bowlers Johnny Barran and Martin Cantwell. Barron took 5-22 in 11 overs and skipper Cantwell whipped out the tail with 3-4 in five. Peter Harow all out for 82.

Bramley remain second after beating Wood Street by five wickets. Opener Dan Saunders held Bramley’s bowlers at bay with a good 50, but Alasdair White, Rory Brooks-Kent and Ali Holmes all bowled good spells and the visitors were dismissed for 154.

Bramley, after a shaky start, were steadied by Henry Turner (35). Skipper Lee Burgess marshalled the middle order with a rapid 45 not out and the home side clinched victory in the 32nd over.

Grayshott III, put in by Blackheath II, batted out 48 overs for a decent total of 153-9. Jarryd Brown led the way with 52 and shared a good stand with Harry Hannam (26), but the bowling was tight and Anthony Coombes took 3-24 in 12 overs.

Blackheath openers Ian Nolan and Fred Martin-Dye made 36 apiece before falling to James Baccarini. Grant Silvester then took control and was 45 not out when Blackheath coasted home in the 31st over.

Headley II and Dogmersfield II played out a fine game of fluctuating fortunes, with Dogmersfield’s aggressive batting earning them the extra points in a draw. Dogmersfield opener Jack Cantle peppered the leg-side boundaries while making 65. Headley lost George Worman and Paul Kelly to injuries, but they had a number of options with the ball. Charlie Worman bowled a fine spell, while Tom Kiddey took three wickets. Jamal (34) and Cains shared a good partnership before Andy Coutts (4-24) mopped up the tail and Dogmersfield were dismissed for 203.

A superb innings by Charlie Neville kept Headley in the game. Skipper Dom Johnson contributed a clean-hitting 35 and Ian Neville made 27. The visitors needed 58 off the last 11 overs, but after Charlie Neville’s dismissal for 72, Cantle and Jamal got amongst the wickets and number 11 Mike Hughes had to keep out the last ball of the game, Headley finishing on a creditable 194-9.

Kingsley struggled to 137-9 in 48 overs at Milford, Nick Randall holding his side together with an unbeaten 57. All the home bowlers had good figures, Will Crumbie being the most successful with 3-45 in 14 overs.

Milford lost their openers cheaply, Crumbie retiring injured, but then got the runs comfortably for the loss of only one more wicket. Gordon Gwilliam made 30 and an unbroken partnership between Matt Jones (48 not out) and Ross Fergusson (a quickfire 35) saw Milford home in 32 overs.

Henry Hind and Callan McIntyre skittled out bottom side Puttenham II for 38 in 15 overs after visitors Grayswood II had totalled 146. Grayswood batted fairly consistently against an experienced attack. McIntyre, having a fine day, top-scored with an entertaining 37 off 32 balls, while Tim Wickens returned impressive figures of 3-10 in 14 overs.

The accuracy of Hind (6-18 in 7.2 overs) and McIntyre (4-15 in 7) was too much for Puttenham and eight batsmen were bowled as they crashed out for 38.
