HEADLEY Cricket Club will benefit from the handsome sum of £2,000 to expand and develop their junior coaching staff.
This is courtesy of Tesco’s ‘Bags of Help’, a grant scheme, managed by Groundwork, to encourage projects which will benefit the local community.
Headley applied for the grant back in May last year and after two months of public voting in local Tesco branches during November and December, learnt that they had been awarded one of the three available grants for their project.
It was an exciting moment for the club when the official presentation was made at Mill Chase School on Saturday, where indoor junior coaching takes place every week (from 2pm) until the start of the new season.
