WES Taylor put a poor run of form behind him and hit an unbeaten 105 as Farnham 2nd XI beat Worcester Park II by 133 runs (Surrey Championship 2nd XI Div I).

An opening stand of 62 by Jonny Matthews and Freddie Austin paved the way for Taylor and Russ Golding to play shots all round the ground in a superb partnership of 145. Taylor hammered two sixes and 14 fours, while Golding made a more measured 48 and the visitors totalled 261-6 from their 50 overs.

Dom Lloyd whipped out Worcester’s top three and with first-change Tom Blackburn also claiming three victims, the home side slipped to 87-8 before late batsmen Adam Powers (34) and Chris Turner made the score more respectable.

Worcester Park were dismissed for 138 in the 28th over.

Fourth-placed Farnham could yet steal one of the promotion places if they beat bottom side Wimbledonians in their final game and other results go their way.
