The I’Anson Cup will remain in safe keeping at The Barley Mow public house in Tilford as the 2020 champions retained the title after winning by just one wicket over relegation-threatened Farncombe.

The only team who could beat them, Blackheath, suffered their first defeat of the season at Frensham – and even if results go their way on the final Saturday of the season, they are now unable to catch Tilford.

Frensham skipper James Wood, who has overseen home victories for his club over Tilford and Blackheath – which ended both teams’ unbeaten records on the past two Saturdays – was the first to congratulate the winners.

“Tilford are worthy winners of the I’Anson Cup – they have been amazingly consistent, week in, week out,” he said.
