RELEGATION from the Football League has become a horribly real possibility for Aldershot Town after a disastrous 1-0 home defeat at the hands of fellow League Two strugglers AFC Wimbledon.

The Shots came into Saturday's game with the knowledge that, with eight games left this season and just two points separating them from the lowly Dons, defeat was unthinkable.

But a second-half goal by Jack Midson, chipping goalkeeper Jamie Young after yet more haphazard defending by the Aldershot back line, delivered the killer blow and earned the visitors their first league victory over the Shots.
