FARNHAM Road Club’s 25-mile time trial had a field of 21 riders.
This was the second of Farnham’s four ‘25’s this season, all starting from River Lane in a change from the usual course.
Conditions were sunny, but cool, with a tailwind on the section out to Chawton.
Two visiting riders finished first and second, with Paul Double (VC Venta) recording 53mins 42secs, well ahead of Andrew Pickett (Eden Veranda Racing) in 54-14.
Steve Williamson of a3crg took third place in 54-24, while James Long (Farnham Tri) managed a creditable 59-08.
Mike Fricker was the quickest of Farnham’s own riders in 1-04-57, followed by Greg Harding in 1-05-00, Jim Parker 1-07-56, Ian Howard 1-08-58 and Huw Lloyd 1-09-01.
Fastest lady rider was Laura Bartlett (a3crg) in 1-00-20. Then came Jo Wright (Farnham Tri) in 1-02-44 and Anna Stedman (Charlotteville) in 1-11-07.
Timekeepers were Jim Brown and Ian Thomas, assisted by Michael Rice and Silvio Cortis.
Farnham Road Club members should note that the next 25-mile event (June 7) is also the club championship.
