FORMER Alton Hockey Club member Alex Danson (pictured) helped secure bronze for GB women in the Olympic play-off against New Zealand at the Riverbank Arena.

The 27-year-old scored the first goal in a 3-1 triumph for GB and the striker netted five times overall in the tournament.

Her success in the London Olympics has proved an inspiration to Alton's junior members.
