THE Farnham 4 was one of 200 teams competing in the Hart 4 – a four-hour relay race for teams of four on a four-kilometre, undulating, off-road course through grasslands and the woods of Minley Manor, just north of Fleet.

On a sunny day, runners enjoyed the festival-style atmosphere created by the organisers, Hart Road Runners.

The race village was filled with tents and gazebos, offering shelter to the many runners waiting for their teammates to complete their laps.

There were three team categories – male, female and mixed, with prizes awarded to the first, second and third teams in each category.

There was also a separate category for any team whose combined ages added up to more than 200 years!

Team Farnham 4, comprising Helen Bracey, Linda Tyler, Louise Granell and Clair Bailey, completed 12 laps in an overall time of 4 hours, 1 minute and 33 seconds and finished seventh out of 32 female teams.

“It was an excellent, brilliantly organised and thoroughly enjoyable race and we’ll definitely be back next year,” said Linda.
