FARNHAM Knights completed their season with a third consecutive win, but sadly it was a 1-0 walkover against the once mighty London Olympians who withdrew due to a lack of fit players.
That left the Knights waiting on a result from South Wales. A win for the Welshmen over Bristol would see the Knights (4 wins and 6 losses) finish fifth in the Premier Division. A win for Bristol would advance them to fourth.
Bristol Aztecs dispatched the Welsh Warriors and so the Knights take a final fourth place on their return to the top level of British American football.
Head coach Steve Rains said: “After two consecutive promotions, it’s been a tough year and a steep learning curve. But the end to the season was superb, with third quarterback Ally Reid leading the offense to success after the two starters were injured.”
Individual Farnham records were broken by Aaron Sekwalor (single game rushing), Stealey-J Wills (single game number of receptions), Lloyd Scott and Max Schmidt (single game QB sacks) and Lloyd Scott (single season QB sacks).
Max Schmidt ended his debut season in the seniors as top tackler for the club and Aaron Sekwalor, a junior team graduate, was top rusher and top scorer.
Details of Farnham Knights’ try-out days for next season will follow when available.
