Farnham Roller Hockey Club are back on the rink at Farnham Leisure Centre and looking forward to another busy year.
Highlights from the previous season included reaching national league finals across all junior age groups, the under-13 team winning the regional South East Counties Roller Hockey Association cup, the under-17 female team securing their league title in their debut year, two new female-only teams launching, and four Farnham players being selected for the England squad and competing in the European Championships in June.
Building on this momentum, Farnham Roller Hockey Club are expanding even further this season with an extra team being entered in the top tier of the sport in the UK.
At the same time, the club are continuing to actively nurture talent at the other end of the scale, with another development/under-11s team.
The under-11s league is the perfect way to introduce beginners to competitive matches in a non-pressurised environment, building confidence and game awareness.
Anyone who would like to try roller hockey or general skating is welcome to join the beginner sessions, run by the Surrey & Hampshire Roller Skating Club.
The beginner sessions take place every Sunday at Farnham Leisure Centre, starting with general skating at 3.30pm followed by roller hockey at 4.30pm. Other session times are available to view online at www.skateclubs.org and all kit is provided on site.
Farnham Roller Hockey Club have qualified coaches guiding every session, and new players receive structured training to develop skating and stick skills step by step. The club prides itself on creating a fun, energetic atmosphere for everyone involved.
