HONOURS were shared in the Friendship Trophy matches played at Woolmer Hill on Easter Monday afternoon.

Haslemere Town Boys played two matches against Suderburg, from Germany, the tournament being the climax of the 38th football exchange between the clubs. Haslemere won the under-12 match, 3-1, but Suderburg triumphed in the under-14 fixture, 3-2.

The windy weather in no way disrupted the weekend and footballers, coaches and supporters enjoyed the football-related activities which included a trip to Fratton Park to see Portsmouth beat Notts County in a League Two match, a six-a-side tournament, an evening watching the Germany versus England international, a match between the coaches (result 2-2) and a skills session at The Edge.

The Town Mayor, Melanie Odell, opened Monday’s tournament and presented the Friendship Trophies.

The two clubs are already looking forward to next year’s Easter weekend exchange and it will be Haslemere’s turn to visit Suderburg in the district of Uelzen, Lower Saxony.
