A HAT-TRICK from striker Oliver Bailey paved the way as Petersfield Town routed Potters Bar Town 4-1 at Love Lane last night.

Bailey struck nidway through the first half and added a second on 58 minutes as the Rams eased into a 2-0 lead before Potters Bar midfielder Billy Adcock reduced the arrears 17 minutes from time.

But the Rams ensured there would be no nervy finish against their Hertfordshire opponents as Bailey completed his hat-trick on 78 minutes before midfielder Joe Briggs sealed the win with Petersfield’s fourth goal five minutes from time.

The win leaves Petersfield Town in 15th place in Division One Central of the Evo-Stik Southern League, with games in hand on the teams around them.

On Saturday, Petersfield Town host eighth-placed league rivals Beaconsfield at Love Lane (kick-off 3pm).
