ALDERSHOT Town fell at the first hurdle in the Hampshire Senior Cup on Tuesday night, Bashley winning an 11-goal thriller in the 95th minute.

The Shots included seven 16-year-olds alongside four first-teamers – Nick Arnold, Jim Kellermann, Charlie Walker and keeper Mark Smith.

Having overcome an early 2-0 deficit to race into a 5-2 lead in the 50th minute, Aldershot seemed well on the way to victory against the Sydenhams (Wessex) Premier League outfit.

But the home side fought back and scored three times in four minutes before Jesse Gould notched his fourth of the night with a penalty which was virtually the final kick of the game.

Nick Magee scored Bashley’s other two goals. Walker scored twice for the Shots – his first with a delightful chip. Darnell Shortland also scored a brace and Luca Wrightman launched Aldershot’s fightback with their first goal.

In other second-round matches, Basingstoke thrashed Farnborough 5-1 and Petersfield went down 4-0 at AFC?Portchester. Alresford lost 2-1 at Eastleigh.
