NORTH GREENFORD 3, BADSHOT LEA 2
MICHAEL Charles, appointed as Badshot Lea’s new manager this week, witnessed a much-improved performance on Tuesday night, but a 14th defeat of the season left the Baggies still marooned at the foot of the Combined Counties Premier League.
Badshot Lea immediately looked more like a team under Charles, who resigned as Alton manager a month ago, and led 2-1 at North Greenford, thanks to an own goal and a Brad Smith strike.
But two fine goals from Charlie Conner and one from Dan Vincent turned the game around and mid-table North Greenford secured all three points.
Badshot Lea have a testing fixture at Colliers Wood this Saturday. On Tuesday, they host Spelthorne Sports at Ash United’s ground. The latter fixture was postponed last Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch, as was Farnham Town’s home game with Guildford City.
l Farnham, who beat Alton 3-1 in a midweek friendly, are at Sutton Common Rovers this Saturday. On Tuesday, they host Camberley in the third round of the Premier Challenge Cup. Farnham beat Camberley to win the cup last May.
