KNAPHILL 1, FARNHAM TN 3

FARNHAM Town reached the semi-finals of the Combined Counties Premier Challenge Cup with this midweek victory.

It was a very different game to the previous weekend when Town beat the league leaders, but just as satisfying as Farnham stretched their undefeated run to seven matches.

Knaphill had most of the possession in the first half, but rarely looked like scoring. Elliott Cardona missed a one-on-one at the other end before Farnham took the lead on 20 minutes. Tom Smith and Ollie Macallam created the chance and this time Cardona made no mistake.

Farnham retained the ball much better in the second half. Knaphill equalised with a deflected shot, but the visitors only raised their game another notch. Max Meaton finished clinically for the second goal. Finally, Joe Sowden laid off Smith’s cross to Cardona who curled the ball into the bottom corner for his second goal.
