Farnham Town left-back Brandon Mason was delighted after his side won 2-0 at home to Torquay United on his return from injury.

Mason returned to the Town’s starting line-up after nearly two weeks out, and was named man-of-the-match after an impressive display.

“I love playing football, so it was good to be back with the boys,” said Mason.

“We set out to win the game, so I was thankful we got the win and can start to look up the table.

“I worked hard to get back. I'm desperate to play and help the boys, so I tried to get back as quickly as possible.”

Farnham’s win against Torquay was their second successive victory, and Mason was delighted with the result.

“We had a bit of a slow start to the season – we played well in the games at the start but the results didn't go our way,” said Mason.

“We knew we had to up the performance levels, and then the results will come. Thankfully for us, the results are starting to pick up.

“We knew Torquay were a good side. They’re going to be up there challenging, as they were last season.

“The gaffer set a gameplan to catch them on the counter-attack. That's how the game panned out, and we got the win.

“We attack and defend as a team, and that really showed. In and out of possession we were really aggressive and didn't allow Torquay spaces to hurt us. We have to take that same mentality into every game.

“When we get our chances, we've got to take them. That was the difference in the game.

”We've got a winning mentality at the club – we're not going to settle to be in and around mid-table. We want to be challenging at the top.”
