Farnham Town manager Paul Johnson was pleased after his side came though a "tough night" to win 4-2 at Chesham United and move into the National League South play-off places.

Goals from George Alexander, Mat Mackenzie, Miles Obodo and Darryl Sanders fired the Town to victory in front of a crowd of 579 at The Meadow.

“It was a tough night in many ways,” said Johnson. “Any game away in this league on a Tuesday night is a tough game.

“We could have been complacent after our performance on Saturday and then coming here on a Tuesday night, but I think the boys adapted well to it.

“I thought we started the game quite comfortably, but Chesham caused us a few problems.

“We looked a threat and it was just a matter of adjusting to what Chesham were doing. Then we could pick them off.”

Obodo scored his first Farnham goal to put the Town 3-1 up early in the second half, and Johnson was delighted for the young marksman.

“There were a couple of runs Miles made in the first half which killed his space, but he took that on board and attacked the space not too early,” said Johnson. “He got his goal, which he’s deserved over the past two games.”

Farnham have enjoyed some impressive away results recently, and Johnson believes his team’s attacking threat is key to their success on their travels.

“I think teams worry about what we can do,” said Johnson. “We’re always going to play attacking players and let the players play.

“I like scoring goals. Some of the coaches want to be a bit more shored up, but we go and attack every team. We treat it the same whether it’s home or away. It’s paying dividends for us at the minute.”
