It will be a new-look Farnham Town when they tackle Molesey in the Combined Counties League at The Memorial Ground tomorrow (Saturday).

The Premier South Division club have moved swiftly following the sacking of Colin Millard to appoint former Westfield boss Tony Reid as the new manager.

And Reid has already brought other new faces to the club - he will be joined by assistant manager Louis Carder-Walcott, striker Max Blackmore, centre-half Greg Hayden and midfielder Karle Carder-Andrews, all of whom were with him at Westfield.

Reid led Westfield to promotion from the Combined Counties Premier Division and a play-off spot in the Isthmian League.

That was followed by a short spell at East Grinstead - but says he has joined Farnham Town wanting to enjoy his football once again.

He said: ”Some people might see this move, after my time at Westfield, as being a big fish in a small pond – but after having experienced the politics of football at a higher level, I just wanted to get back and enjoy what I’m doing again.

”I was impressed by the determination of the Farnham Town Management Committee to recruit me as their new manager. The presentation they made to me and their ambitions for the club are fantastic.”

Reid said one priority was to to improve players’ work rate, as well as to generate a ’more focused, winning mentality’.

Farnham chairman Paul Tanner said: “Seeing Tony back managing a team in Step 5 will send shockwaves through this division.

"His record in achieving promotion speaks for itself, and I’m sure we’ll see an instant impact on the pitch on Saturday, and a turnaround in results that will get Farnham Town to where we want to be – pushing for promotion to Step 4.”
