Goalkeeper Euan Brindley saw red as Liss Athletic lost 2-0 at home to Hayling United at the Newman Collard Playing Fields.

Hayling struck either side of the interval to take home all three points, with Liss battling for more than an hour with ten men after Brindley brought down his man when clean through.

Right-back Charlie Harrison put in a solid performance after taking over between the posts.

Mark Glazier’s men had a good opportunity to level early in the second half when Elliot Harrison saw his volley flash just wide, before Seamus Evans had his pass intercepted on halfway – from which the visitors made a quick counter and added a second.

The result leaves Liss in seventh spot in the Hampshire Premier Football League Senior Division. Liss travel to Infinity today (Saturday).
