HEADLEY Hotspurs under-sevens stayed undefeated throughout their debut season in the North East Hampshire Youth League.

The team have finished the season with an impressive record of 25 wins and one draw from their 26 matches.

The boys are all from different schools in the local area, and started training together for Headley Hedgehogs on Saturday mornings when they were five years old.

The early season started with some comprehensive victories before a league reshuffle created much closer and more competitive games.

On the few occasions Headley trailed in matches they always found a way to fight back and grind out a result.

Plenty of late winning goals and victories from losing positions demonstrated the superb attitude and commitment from the team on numerous occasions.

Manager Dominic Cope said: “I knew this group of players would be tough to beat, but I had no idea they would show so much character.

“They play with a smile on their face, never give up, and always keep going until the final whistle.

“Each one of them has been fantastic this season and I can’t wait to get going again with them next season.”
