HEADLEY 5,

PAULSGROVE 4

HEADLEY staged a remarkable comeback in their Hampshire Premier League match against Paulsgrove. Headley seemed down and out when they trailed 4-0 at half-time, Josh Parry, Jake Warlow and Bobby Scott (2) having scored for the visitors.

But Headley stormed back with five goals in the second half. Connor Burdett, Mark Richards, Matt Rayner (pen) and Lee Coyne got them back level and Andy Lee got the winner in the 78th minute. Final score: 5-4.

Liphook scored twice in the second half to beat bottom side Colden Common 2-0.

Just before half-time, both sides had chances to break the deadlock. Ben Mackay headed against the Liphook crossbar from a corner and, at the other end, Josh Marshall hit a fierce shot that Max Rovetto did well to parry at his near post.

With the benefit of the wind, Liphook scored twice in two minutes midway through the second half. First, Colden Common failed to clear a Richard Covey free-kick and Josh Marshall’s shot squirmed through Rovetto’s fingers into the top corner.

Soon after, Steve Harding got on the end of a through-ball and blasted into the roof of the net from close range.
